October Favorites
I want to tell you that October was filled with spooky movies, pumpkin patches, and all things Halloween, but I’d be lying. I didn’t watch most of the Halloween movies that I normally watch. I didn’t visit the pumpkin patch of my dreams and get cute pictures of me and my girlfriend holding up our cute pumpkins. But even so, I had one great October. Here are all of the things I absolutely loved this October.

tory burch purse
This purse is my old faithful. I love that I can wear it with so many things and I can fit tons of things in here. It’s the purse that I know I can rely on and I wore it a lot this month.
Coatigan from Petal + Pup
I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t unsure about this concept. A coat/cardigan sounds really cute in theory, but I wasn’t sure if I would actually like to wear it in real life. So, when Petal + Pup offered to send me a package of goodies, I decided to try it out and it was the perfect fall item. It’s not too heavy and not too light. It fit me really nice and I definitely recommend it.
lush shower gels
In all transparency, I have loved Lush for many years, but when I got the opportunity to get a package full of Lush products sent to me from Lush, I jumped for joy. I thoroughly enjoyed my Lush shower gels. They all smelled really good and I loved the way my skin felt using. Will definitely be repurchasing.

Mascara from the Lip Bar
Another banger product that was sent to me from the brand. This mascara did everything that it claimed to do. My lashes were more voluminous and longer after applying it. I like that the wand is unique.
Coffee Machine from Amazon
This purchase was a sneak purchase from my girlfriend Jewelia LOL. Usually we discuss all of our purchases for our home together. Jewelia knew that if she asked me about this coffee machine I would say, “We already have a coffee machine! Why do we need another one?” and she would have been correct. That’s exactly what I would say. So she decided to buy it and show me why we needed this other one. She was 100% correct we did in fact need this one.
I really like this coffee machine because it’s super easy to clean and a very fast but efficient way to make coffee. I get a little grossed out about our traditional coffee machine because you can’t take out all of the parts to clean it. I love that it’s only two parts.

Reading
This month I finally got back into reading. I have such a weird relationship with reading. I’ve always loved to escape through books. As a child I used books as a way to cope with my difficult childhood. As an adult I struggle to find ways to continue my habit of reading. This month I started to read audio books through audible and it’s been helping me get through books a lot more.
I listen to books while I do my hair, while I do my skincare, between breaks while I’m working from home, or while doing tasks that don’t require me to concentrate.
I read 2 books this month. Slade House and A Dowry of Blood.
Slade House is about this house that invites guests every few years and once the guests get there they find out they’re unable to leave. It’s spooky and weird. I gave it a 3.5 stars out of 5.
A Dowry of Blood is a polyamorous LGBTQ+ book told from the perspective of one of Dracula’s brides. It’s very gory and very sexual. It was a good time but it didn’t absolutely blow my mind. Another 3.5 stars out of 5.
Nintendo Switch Lite + Disney Dreamlight Valley
I am a shocked that I’m a gamer now, a little. Am I shocked that the game that made me bite the bullet and purchased a Nintendo Switch was Disney Dreamlight Valley, yeah absolutely. At least let me explain myself.
I came across a video about Disney Dreamlight Valley and I saw all of these cute Disney characters and all of the ways I could customize my character and my house and I just simply fell in love.
If I had to describe the game I would say it’s a Disney version of Animal Crossing with a bit more customization options. I am absolutely enjoying the game right now.
It comes out next year and it’ll be a free game, but you can purchase it now as an early release. Since it is early release there are a few glitches, but honestly it doesn’t stop me from playing at all.
Reddit is such a wild internet rabbit hole and I absolutely love it. Jewelia, my beautiful girlfriend, showed me how to create an account on Reddit and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. I really needed another app that was social but wasn’t an actual social media since social media is my job.
I basically use Reddit like I would Twitter, but I stopped using Twitter because it was such a negative place.
The Ordinary Products
I have been struggling with hormonal acne since I stopped my birth control in March 2022. I finally had a telehealth call with my dermatologist and she gave me a new skincare routine.
She told me to start using Azelaic Acid and she specifically recommended me to try out The Ordinary’s azelaic acid. I had heard so many things about The Ordinary so I was really excited to try it out and I’ve been loving these two products from them.
I have been loving the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%, which is a Vitamin C Serum and the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%.
